| Open burning is prohibited by the fire district between the dates of May 31 through Sept. 30th. The district requires the issuance of burn permits for open burning from Oct. 1st through May 30th. Permits are available, at no cost, at 1089 JW Drive, Carbondale, CO 81623 between the hours of 8am-5pm Monday through Friday. To obtain a permit online, please visit the forms and publications page and click on the burn permit links. This form can be printed off and faxed or saved as a pdf and emailed to our office. Please Note: For this form to be valid it must have our signature and a permit number. All permits will be issued for a 14-day period and can be renewed by phone within the same calendar year.
