| Q. I have an outstanding balance on my ambulance bill, what are my options for payment.
A. The Basalt Fire Department accepts Visa, MC or monthly payments of whatever you find affordable. Please contact our Administrative Office at (970) 704-0675 to make payments or set-up a payment plan that meets your needs.
Q. How can I arrange for my group to tour a fire station?
A. Call the Administrative office Monday – Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. at 970-704-0675 or email them at info@basaltfire.org with the date, times, age group, and number of children that will be in the tour and we will do our best to accommodate your request. Remember to call early to schedule tours during the month of October due to an increase in the number of requests during National Fire Prevention Week.
Q. How do I report a fire hazard at my neighbor’s house?
A. It depends on the nature of the hazard. If there is a fire emergency, call 911. If there is a fire hazard and it is not an emergency (such as painting a car in a garage) call our Administrative Office at 704-0675 to report the hazard.
Q. I would like to take a CPR class. Who do I contact?
A. Please contact Colorado Mountain College at 970-945-8691 to get their list of CPR classes or go to their website www.coloradomtn.edu. The Fire Department does not provide CPR classes to the public.
Q. How do I make a donation to the Volunteers at Basalt Fire?
A. Volunteers at the Basalt Fire Depart will graciously accept any size donations in the form of checks, cash, or money orders. Checks and money orders can be made out to "Basalt Volunteers" and mailed to 1089 JW Drive, Carbondale, CO 81623 or dropped by the main station in El Jebel. The Basalt Fire Department greatly appreciates your support!
Q: Why are there fees for fire code permits and some fire inspections?
A: The fees cover the administrative and inspection costs accrued by the Basalt & Rural Fire Protection District and its employees.
Q: Is your training room available for social events or private parties?
A: Our training room is only available to non-profit organizations for meetings. If your organization is interested, please contact the Administrative Offices for more information. |
