The Basalt Fire District believes strongly in teaching fire prevention in our schools. Each year during National Fire Prevention Week, the department visits the local elementary schools and early educational facilities in our district to promote fire prevention. We also facilitate small group tours with prior notice of at least a week. Tours consist of a tour of the station and the vehicles by one of our staff. Due to the nature of our business it is always best to reconfirm on the day of the visit. Barring an emergency, firefighters are on hand to conduct these tours. We handle special requests i.e. classroom visits, birthday parties, on a case-by-case basis. To schedule a classroom visit or a ride along, or to take a tour of one of our firehouses click here or call (970) 704-0675.
