Burn Permits

NO OPEN BURNING JUNE 1st- SEPTEMBER 30th

Open burning is allowed October 1st through May 31st. Click the links below for a printable burn permit:

Burn Permit- Eagle
Burn Permit- Pitkin

 

Print and fill out the burn permit, then fax it to: (970) 704-0625. You may also fill it out, scan it and email it as an attachment to: info@basaltfire.org. You can also call our office at (970) 704-0675 and request a burn permit be faxed or emailed to you.

Please Note: For the permit to be valid, it must have our signature and a permit number. All permits will be issued for a 14-day period and can be renewed by phone within the same calendar year.

We do not issue burn permits for bonfires or campfires. Click here for guidelines on recreational fires.

Fire Ban Questions

The fire district is located in both Eagle and Pitkin Counties. The responsibility of initiating or rescinding fire bans falls to the sheriffs of both of these counties. Please direct any questions you may have to the Sheriff’s office in your county. To obtain a burn permit please go here.
